Yeah, our middle guy, Breeze, hasn't had one in a coupla days due to us dealing with the injured pup.

He's been following me to the door, and the mud room where the leashes hang, every time I head that way.

Told him tonight, I promise tomorrow he gets one.

He cannot stand her. He is 8# and she's just shy of 80# so he doesn't have much choice in the matter.

Super smart and well trained.

No Pics? Sheesh. What are you good for? Oh yeah, beef. Never mind.

About the time Momma and I got married, winter of '82. I was gifted a gorgeous blue Aussie pup.

About the time the pup hit 3 months, I taught her, at a snap of my fingers, to leap off the ground and harmlessly nip Momma on her cute little Wrangler clad butt. Momma was less amused than I.

The pup really needed some livestock, so before she was a year old I gifted her to a lady with horses and cows. The dog had a much better life than if she had stayed in a yard in town.

That's no lie. The little pit mix we adopted is so happy to have our 3yr old brindle to play with, but she's just now learning to play "nicely". The big dog's chest and neck were littered with scabs for weeks. They still have worn a 10' circle in my fenced backyard where there's not a stitch of grass, but there's now less blood involved in the tussling. We've had dog beds, but they always wind up sleeping on the couch anyway. Chewing up stuff is kept to a minimum with a bunch of rope toys and Kong bones.

White dog despises her, so she must have snuck in close while he was asleep.

There's also lots of snoozing in the chair.

Our pack of dogs is a hodge-podge, but if we were without any pups, I'd likely consider getting a pair of Heelers / cattle dogs. This guy followed me around the other day on a job site and he was too cool.

I love my dogs. Like a lot.

But they aren't people. Lots of childless couples "adopt" dogs and refer to them as their "kids" or "fur babies". That is sick as phugk.

FWIW, my new pup is 70 lbs at +/- 5 months. And full retard, Happiest retard in the county. Thinks he's a 30lb house dog lol.

Better watch that.

He'll grow on you and you'll start thinking of him as more than a dog. wink

I was thinking along the same lines.

Looks like it would make some staves for ball bats or tool handles at least, if not lumber.

we burn scraggly old juniper that isn't worth much more than firewood. Probably one in a hundred trees can you get a decent board out of. It will make decent fence posts though.
