The ss versions are quite bulky, but strong and adjustments are good. My Ultra light is 9.3 oz. and still seems strong. From their price point , they sell very good stuff that has a compromise . Low light conditions some of them are not great, My ultra light has a pretty short eye relief, the glass in general is not not super on the SS versions, etc. But for the money I like them and when on sale they are actually cheap. Not to mention I never had an issue with their customer service dept. 4 day turn around for a scope I thought I had an issue with( turned out to be the gun) and got a new replacement....

LOL. Funny that the Leupold VX5 2-10x weighs 17.9 oz and the 3-15x weighs 19.7 oz, yet nobody complains about the weight, but people are quick to point out how heavy SWFA scopes are at 19 oz and 18.7 oz for the 3-9x and 6x/10x, respectively.

Light weight seems the only positive thing people can conger these days about certain scopes. I hear and read it all the time how people just can't possibly abide an extra few ounces. A few weeks ago I was at the range and a fellow asked me how much the NF I was using weighed. I answered and he quickly informed that his VX-5 weighed much less and that he would never strap such a heavy clunker to his rifle. I corrected him with the exact difference, which was only 3 ounces, and followed up with something to effect that 3 ounces seems a small price to pay to know your bullets are landing where you want them to. He responded by asking me how reliable and precise do I really need a scope to be?

I do think it's funny how much relavance people assign to a few ounces on a rifle rig. Seriously, if schlepping an 8-9lbs rifle set up to where the game is, is a deal breaker for you, perhaps it's time to just plant a food plot, build a box stand you can drive your ATV up to, and have a seat for the season. Or take up golf. With a cart.

SWFA scopes are durable, they return to zero, and have good reticles. They are good aiming devices for the money.
