LGS has a Sako L61R (Finnbear) .270 with an aftermarket Brown Precision stock on it. Metalwork is about 98%, with only very minor blue loss on the edges of the muzzle. Stock is in good shape, but could use a repaint, as some of the top coat has worn down to the undercoat. Nikon 1.5-5x scope in Redfield base and rings.
What's a fair value in today's market?
Thanks.

Guys looking for .270 Winchester want a light weight rifle. This rifle in excellent original condition would bring about $1200. From description provided rifle discussed here on American market should fetch $850+/-50. Good scope would increase the value, but 1.5-5x was probably thrown in to get better price. This kind of scope is rarely mounted on .270 Winchester rifles most guys opting for at least 3-9x with 4-12x being preferable.

Looking at completed auctions on GB, over the past 3 months, Sako 270's that actually sold, brought anywhere from $800 to $1,600. Most in the $1,000 to $1,200 range. Given that it needs paint, I'd put it closer to $1,000. While I could do just fine with a 1.5x5 scope here on the farm, it is of no value relative to the rifle.

Pristine Sako’s go for around 1200.00. I wouldn’t pay more than 800.00 for that rifle.

They will bring about the prices above with an original walnut stock in good condition. I own and shop Sako rifles all the time. The Brown Precision stock is a detriment to me. Consider you're buying a barreled action. Rick
