on my .35 Whelen.
3 quick shots at 100 yards at a 3/4" orange dot. Used a shooting prop that is made of rubbery type stuff sort of looks like the bottom part of a Talley lightweight...I believe it's made for shooting AR's off of.
Was zeroed with 250 Gr Hornadies, but this year decided to use the 250 gr Partitions I've had loaded a long time.
All three shots hit within half the size of a deer's heart and 100 yards is at least 45 yards farther than I've ever shot a deer so back in the case, back in the truck, grabbed a sammich and back at the office in less than 1 hour.....and my conscience will not bother me this weekend while in the woods.
No need trying to shoot bench rest groups to post pretty pics on the campfire this is a hunting rifle!!!!
Just thought I'd share my experience. Hopefully will be posting a pic of it's first deer this weekend.

good enough for the range you are shooting
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Agreed on all counts! Will post some pics tonight when I get home. It’s my VZ-24 with PAC Nor barrel.

Mike, good luck on your hunt…
When people face the possibility of freezing or starving there is little chance they are going to listen to unfounded claims of climate doomsday from a bunch of ultra-rich yacht sailing private jet-setting carbon-spewing hypocrite elites

Thanks Lee, been 7 times so far have seen 6 dinks and does. So this is a Mauser VZ-24, trigger install D&T and bolt forging done by Harvey King, Selma. AL 22" 12 twist Pac Nor Super Match SS installed by Pacnor then Back to Harvey and He sent it to someone to teflon coat, Our own Karnis re-worked the Boyd's JRS stock for me cause I'm not Mogilla Gorilla and 14" anything is tooo long and it wa too slick and too heavy! Noticed Karnis hasn't posted in 7 years I hope he is OK I know he had a back Injury. Talley Ruger style bases, Ruger rings. In the next life I'll probably go for something lower profile.

Well, I guess that’ll do for some people, but I bet the drift and drop at 1000 yards is just beyond imagining.🙄
Hope worrying about that doesn’t keep you up nights.
What fresh Hell is this?

Great minds think alike! Mine is 257Robt.
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

I always find these stories of east of the Mississippi hunting amusing, just because it's so different. Good luck on your hunt!

We can get places sometimes to shoot 100's of yards (chop fields, more agricultural areas like South Ga, South Al) but predominately are woods hunters and I don't like or prefer those types of properties.
Like the Elk timber everywhere without the big valleys just the woods.
I grew up in Indiana where you could see for several miles in the fall/winter and they required shotgun slugs or Muzzleloaders only back then!
