Most years it's .223, but this year I've been playing with cast bullets in 30-30, so it "wins" this year.

For me it's my 7 Mashburn Super, I generally go 1K rounds a year thru it.

I don't shoot a 223 much anymore except for rodents and the years I get into them I'll generally go about 3K rounds in the fields tossing the lil furry critters around.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.

A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

This year its the .308 Win. In years past its been the 7mm WSM, 358 Win, 6mm Intl., 243, 222R. Lots of years, lots of shooting.

223, since I've got an AR-15. Otherwise, 7mm-08.

A couple of thousand rounds of .308 Winchester every year.

A whole lot more .22 rimfire though - that centerfire stuff is expensive, even handloading! smile

Yes, this much shooting wears out barrels every few years too - another reason I like the .308 for my general purpose round, accurate barrel life tends to be long. If I had more varmint shooting available locally, I'd likely go through a bunch of .223 or .204 Ruger, but sadly, that's not the case.

I shoot more 243 Win and 44 mag (in revolver) than another other centerfires. Well, 45acp comes a good second in centerfire revolver.
