One of these days the banks will probably also send a 1099 to summarize all your deposits. This is all aimed at political enemies of the regime.

That is how I have always operated. Actually, cashing USPS MO's is more of a pain that a personal check. In all of my transactions on here I have NEVER had a bad check......knock on wood.

Taxation and all the fun that goes along with it.... got out of hand a long time ago.
WHY.....?..... am I paying taxes on a used vehicle that I buy, that has already had taxes paid on it. Same with GB, EBay, etc.... all taxes on goods already taxed. Well, except for retailers selling on there. But used.... makes no sense.

1099 forms.... more tracking of MY spending..... it's none of their damn business.
The reset button needs to be pushed

Whether you tell yourself you CAN do it.... or you CAN'T.... you're correct.

If you have a PO that's not a bunch of jerks, they have enough cash to verify and cash any MO on the spot.

Worst case is depositing it the same as a check. I see zero difference at my bank if I deposit a USPS MO or a personal check, other than the USPS MO funds are usually released sooner. You can always verify the MO as well, and it's really not possible to stop payment on a MO or be insufficient funds.

.

This is not true where I live, in a sizable suburb to Dallas. Trying to cash any MO for more than $150 or so has been a no go in a society that is darn near cashless anymore.
Maybe if I waited to the end of the day to let the cash drawer fill up the P.O. could oblige my request, otherwise I’ve never been successful with my request.
I don’t use a USPS MO for payment and will rarely accept one.
The hassle outweighs any benefits for me.

Since it's a discussion, keep in mind . If a USPS M.O. is lost in the mail ,and yeah ,it happens,I think you have to wait likev 2 months before you can put the claim in to get reimbursed . So checks has become a better option for me ,personally

Are there any Fudds left that think you have to cash a USPS money order at the USPS?

Going to the bank is just as f’n painful as going to the post office here. I don’t do it as there really is never a need. I bank from my phone or computer.

From what I’ve read any and all transactions over $600 at your bank that aren’t connected to employment (direct deposit) will also be reported to the IRS.

Or are trying to connect it to the next social spending bill
