Only when I throttle up the boat.
Got tired of pulling a high speed U-turn and getting to it before it sinks. Same. Lost a pricey full-brimmed fishing hat last summer after sunset while running for the launch. SAR measures turned it up, thankfully.
4 out of 5 Great Lakes prefer Michigan.

When I'm coming up on a big rapid, the bill is bothering me or threatening to blow off in the wind, and I don't have time to put it someplace where it won't get washed away.
Or if I'm prone and trying to take a scoped rifle shot.

Back in1999 I was trout fishing Montana with friends. One day the sun was close to dropping off the horizon and I watched a young guy casting directly into the sun, but no way would the dumfuq use the bill to shade his eyes. These are the same IPhone zombies that walk into traffic .

In boats almost every day. Sometimes it gets turned around. It serves no purpose when backwards, but it doesn't blow off as easy.

There’s only 3 occasions that I’ve ever worn mine backwards.
Like Sam mentioned when hauling ass on the 4-Wheeler. And like LT mentioned, when driving while hauling ass in a fast bass boat. And while playing baseball as a kid. I always played catcher. And was pretty good at it too.
I once made one of my nephews turn his around before riding in my pickup truck. He had his turned around with the stupid ass flat brim gangster look. I told him he could walk or wear it correctly. You look and act stupid, your not riding with me. 🤠
