I’ve tried it. After eating a bite I couldn’t understand the need for it.

Good home made fruit cake put together by someone who knows how to make it is pretty good.....especially with coffee.

The store bought stuff not so much and if that is all anyone ever had I can see why they would not like it.

I don't crave sweets, but as a once-a-year thing, it's not half bad. A cup of hot coffee or black tea goes quite well with it.

I dont like the baked kind, but I like unbaked (refrigerated) fruit cake. Make a meal out of a piece of it and a glass of sweet milk.

Worked with a black guy that brought in some fruitcake one December, here try it.........

I don't like it I told him..........

Try it...................... OK

It was awesome....

I am now blessed with a FC recipe from 'Momma Johnson of Arkansas' and I usually make it every year................

It's really good.....

+2, with a dab or two of rum in the coffee.

I'm 71. My Mom died when I was 48. She made two kinds -- dark (which was not my favourite) and light which was very good. She also made a delicious carrot pudding which we covered with a thick lemon sauce. How do I spell diabetes?

Yes. Brandy soaked, wrapped, dipped in wax, and stored for 2 years. Expensive, but damned well worth it.
