Huge amount of respect to him for his war service. Very similar to George HW Bush in that regard. Sad to see that generation dwindle down to so few but that's just the nature of things. Hopefully people will take this moment to think about the WWII vets who are still with us.
No real opinions on him as a politician. I was a kid when he ran for president - my conservative dad never trusted him, just like GHW Bush.
