I have a couple of old TC Caplocks, a White Mountain carbine and a Big Boar 58. They have single triggers. Are they interchangeable? The Big Boar has a horribly heavy pull and I'm wondering if swapping the two would be an easy fix? Thanks

Can’t that trigger be adjusted? I think my Hawkens can…

My Lyman Deerstalker had a very heavy trigger. I cut the sear spring down and it helped a lot. I sure would not do that until I had a replacement in my hand though. There is one on ebay right now.

You could swap the locks, but then your White Mountain would have the horrible pull. I'd remove the Big Bore lock and take it to a 'smith (if you're not comfortable working on it) to smooth up and lighten the release. Years ago a friend had a T/C kit gun he put together and trigger pull was horrible. The sear surface on the tumbler was unfinished as cast and very rough. A little stoning helped tremendously.

Thanks everyone. Thought I'd ask if anyone had any experience before I dug into it. I always like a gun project, will let you know how things go. Unless I screw it up!

The trigger pull was not a factor on this one, it was less than a 15 yard shot. First and only time that ever happened.

My left hand Renegade had a double trigger and the front trigger was very heavy. A local gunsmith made a lighter spring for me.
