Tri-tip steaks on my new Lodge grill pan, how I survived without this piece of cast iron i'll never know. Side of sautéed onions, mushrooms and skillet potatoes.

It was an all cast iron dinner last night..

I’ve never cut a tritip into steaks. How was it? I almost grabbed one of those lodge pans the other day but passed. Might have to reconsidered it.

The local Costco would sometimes have tri tip steaks. I had em a handful of times and they were dammed good. I haven’t seen them in a while.

When I lived in an apartment, If I wanted steak I’d have to cook them on the cast iron, burgers too.

There’s not a dammed thing wrong with steak or burgers on a skillet!

How was the grill pan to clean?

I can not post the huge steaks on the carbon steel skillets, shown in The Man Who Shot Libert Vallance.

Tri-tips in SLO would drop to $.99/pound and $1.99 were a dime a dozen. This was 1980 - 1985. No more than burger. We grilled the hell out of them on Friday - Sunday when we had time from school.

Pre covid you could still catch some sales where tritip was 2.99 some times. Right now it’s running 9.99 at the local Costco. Ridiculous!
