Yeah.. around 1987'ish Savage went into bankruptcy. Ron Coburn came in and turned the company around, they pretty much stopped production of everything except the 110 and model 24. The 99 was still listed in the catalog, but large parts were being made by Llama in Spain and they were assembled in Spain. Very few 99's sold. And yeah, both David and my books have the serial number ranges for those years. You can search it online at

Let's see.. the synthetic stock version was the 110F. Stock dropped 1 5/8" at the comb, and 2 1/4" at the heel. Weighed 6.75 pounds, held 5 rounds, free floating barrel, black DuPont Rynite stock.. normal twist rate for 22-250 in Savage 110's was 1-14".
