Over the weekend, I had my 30-06 out for a little deer hunt. After several hours of scouring the woods, I was unable to locate a deer so I began the long dejected hike back to the truck. One area I had to cross was a bramble of low bushes. My rifle is carried in a rig attached to my backpack so I reached down and grasped the low end of the scope to keep the brambles from catching it. As I walked I noticed there was movement in the eyepiece of the scope. Further investigation revealed that the glass at the eyepiece was moving in and out of the barrel about a quarter of an inch. I assume the seal gave up. The glass is still captive in the scope but obviously unusable in its current state. My question is, is there a way to repair this? Is it worth the repair as it is a low cost scope? I have really liked this scope and would like to see it usable again.

Thanks

Call Nikon, at the worst they'll say no. Buddy sent one back 6 or so months ago, they took care of it.

I've read several reports where they'll simply give you a coupon to spend on another optic. Of course they no longer make scopes, so unless you want a set of binos or a spotter you'll be out of luck.

I was afraid of that conclusion. I will contact them with crossed fingers.

Friend sent a monarch back that he had 200 in , they could not fix it but sent him a card that he could spent on nikon stuff. He ended up getting 3 nikon range finders and a pair of binoculars . The New York repair center is still open.
