What Irish whisky have you tried?

This

I prefer moderately priced single malt Scotch, but a decent Bourbon is fine from time to time. I like the cheaper Evan Williams about as much as any.

Had the pleasure of spending time in Ireland with the guy that wrote the book on tasting Irish whiskey. Had access to his personal stash. It was some amazing stuff! There are a lot of incredible Irish whiskeys but they never leave Ireland.

Jameson makes a huge range of ultra high-end whiskeys all the time. They make a series named for former presidents... Hyde #6 is one I tried that will rival about anything.

Agreed. Get away from the average Jameson blend behind the bar and Jameson is a great whiskey product.

Jameson (several varieties) Redbreast, Tullamore Dew, Bushmills, Kilbeggan, Green Spot, Teeling, Writer's Tears...off the top of my head.

Most scotch tastes like burnt dirt to me. To cover that up sometimes they make it salty. No thanks.

Bourbon is fine.

Well, if Redbreast and Green Spot don't suit then Irish isn't for you. Is it safe to assume you didn't pollute them with ice?

I prefer scotch typically for sipping. Bourbon my least favorite sipping whiskey

For cocktails though, I drink more bourbon by volume

My son in law was a Scotch drinker until I introduced him to bourbon

Scotch ..only I can't afford my palate. The Aberlour, the Lagavulin, the Macallan..oh don't get me started.

Good Irish Whiskey comes second. sometimes hard to find "good" in Alabama

Bourbon is a rednecks friend.

Followed by some really good shine, which I have been able to find here in Bama on occasions.
