Rye. Knob Creek followed by Bulleit then Crown.
Knob Creek has a single barrel select I want to try, but $50.00 a bottle is just over the line.

I am the opposite, not a fan of Bulliet or Knob creek.
Really like BH dark rye, Old Forester, JD single barrel proof, dickle bonded whiskey and some others that I cannot think of right now.

Bourbon, with Wild Turkey Rare Breed being my favorite. It has been unobtanium in central Ohio for a month or so. My friend just gave me a fifth of Four Roses Single Barrel this morning for a Christmas present.

I like both, why limit yourself to just one. Same here. I've also started dabbling in and taking a liking to ryes. Bourbon, by a long margin. But I like Scotch, Irish and Japanese whisky as well. Even rye is good every now and then. You can keep the Canadian stuff though. I pretty much have the same opinion on all the Canadian whisky I've swilled down over the years. But someone on another whiskey thread here recommended giving 40 Creek a try. I haven't had a chance to get my hands on a bottle yet so, I'm still open to finding a good Canadian. Man, there is just too much ground to cover when doing the bourbon vs Scotch thing.
Especially on the Scotch side where the various types of Scotch are so different from each other.
Gotta narrow it down.

I have 18 y/o scotch taste on a bourbon salary. Bought any Pappy lately.... The one and only bottle of Pappy I've purchased was around 12 years ago. I think it was a bottle of 10y/o and was 1/2 the price of 18y/o Glenmorangie, at that time, which is my goto 18y/o Scotch. I can rarely find Buffalo Trace in my parts, much less Blanton's or Pappy. Larceny is my recent favorite. It is also a wheated bourbon like Pappy, just from a different distillery. In my opinion it is the best "cheap" bourbon option. Although I've also grown fond of Ezra Brooks too.
