Never saw the show, don't care to waste time on teevee sewage.

But one thing I've learned about hunting is that law & ethics is pretty much dependent on where you are. Learn the laws & local mores and get to it in accordance with them.

I must atone for I have sluiced several ducks and geese over the years on water.

They were called โ€œcripplesโ€ and me, playing the role as the dog, was Not gonna chase feathers all over the bay.

Please forgive.

shocked

Fug that, I'll ground/branch sluice grouse all day long.

Miss far less that way !

I will shoot every damn grouse I have a shot at on the ground. They taste too damn good to wait for them to fly. Fugg that.

You must remember that one of the great points of honor on the 'fire is not owning a television. Owning one but not watching it is acceptable, but a rung lower on the ladder.

The original poster is going to crap when he sees the one where they are killing ducks using a long pole, when they are molting. Hang in there Chip some of us kinda understand. As much as we can without living the life. miles

Hunting male ducks when they cluster while moulting is alotta fun.

The males dont help the females raise the chicks.

The females are scattered with their babys , so its after mating season and the meat is sweet.

Most 'Clubbing' is a quick and certain death, broken necks, smashed skulls. Plenty to go around for 9 people or more when you get 20 or so. If some elders want some 'Issa", then get em a few too.

we cant dry them or keep them in camp, so we limit our catch.

Geese raise their young in groups, and when the molt is on, the babys are cared for by a group of adults and clubbing a few adult Geese is a pretty good feed.

The death is quick, the meats all good, no meats wasted on a shot to the breast and no wounded get away. Whats wrong with that?

Better than first expected. Its all Springfeild Nat Match in a GI composite stock.

My only malfunctions so far has been with Norma Match....the shells stick and dont extract.
Everything else is, from Wolf steel to PMC Bronze, doing what its supposed to do at all temps.

I do miss my M-39, but in my early 50's my eye sight has changed a little, so the rear sight on the Mosin is a bit 'not so sharp', but I look through the rear peep and Im spot on.
I work it out to 500 yards on good days, on an 12 inch gong.

That PMC bronze seems pretty decent across the board for me.

Ducks are delicious and nutritious, and best when you catch enough to have a couple meals, straight to the oven and freezer

Caribou,

My family doesnโ€™t care for reality TV typically but we love Life Below Zero.

Initially I found you to be annoying but you and your family grew on us. Love the footage of your hunts.

GFY.
