If you please, I need your go-to load in the 7mm-08 that utilizes the 120 gr. Ballistic Tip.
Thanks, RS

I use 45 grains of Varget for a tad over 3000 fps from my 22” NULA. Accuracy is outstanding, but this rifle shoots almost anything well.

2.800” fed 210m 22” barrel
44.5 Varget 2,930fps 1/4” - approaching book max
48.0 biggame 2,930fps 3/8” (WLRM) - well below max 49.5 biggame 3,010fps 3/4” (WLRM)
43.5 RL15 2,910fps 3/4” 44.0 RL15 2,970fps 5/8” - nosler book max
In my rifle 2,930fps velocity was top accuracy with Varget, RL15, and Big game. Big game book max is 52.0 according to Nosler and 49.1 according to Ramshot w/ a 120 tsx; I stopped at 49.5. RL15 showed a broad accuracy node spanning 2,930fps; I would probably pick 43.7 for hunting ammo.

43.6 H4895 3080 single digit velocity spread, 15 and a half pounds of recoil with my 7lb tikka/scope, shoots 1in groups at 200yds, a hammer on elk... just one of those perfect balance loads.

Work up to this, it’s a little hot.
Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

I settled on 47.5gr BigGame. Other loads that showed promise: 43.5gr Varget, 46.3gr CFE223, 41.5gr 8208XBR.

I've tried varget, big game, and Re15 . Re15 showed very good accuracy at starting load ( youth). and extreme accuracy at max. Re15 is my choice.

In today's world the first question is what powders do you have access to? Doesn't matter what we say if you can't get that powder.

48.5 grains of CFE223 works with both the Nosler 120 BT and the Barnes 120TTsx.

CT Of the newer powders out there, I've had better results with CFE223 than Big Game with the 120NBT and the 7mm-08. One rifle, an 18" carbine, makes over 3,100fps with a charge from the Hogdon online data. Their data is likely warm. Other rifles of mine get H4895 and 120's, using Barnes' load data for their TTSX. That bullet gets close to 3,000fps from a 20" barrel with a max book charge, but I've backed it down to around 2,950. Very pleasant.
Now with even more aplomb

Kent No kidding…. I started with R15 and even though I rarely get more than 2975 fps I just keep using it…..45 grains normally….

My rifle is a Tikka T3x Superlite. With 120gr Nolser Partitions, it was easy to get 3100FPS with W760, Big Game, and RL17. Probably PP2000mr would also, but never tryed it, but it did 3100FPS with Barnes 120gr TTSX, as did the other 3. All were very
accurate. W760 surprised me, it was great with 140gr bullets also as were the others at about 2900 FPS.

I didn't realize Nosler made a 7mm 120gr Partition.
