In 2020 I was granted a Crossbow Permit in South Dakota because of a shoulder injury. I have bow hunted since 1978 so this was a new experience for me. Draw-lock/crossbow permits are only available for disabled hunters in the state of South Dakota. I killed this buck at 6 yards on Nov 2nd. Nice buck, congrats! Which model Excalibur did you use? It is the Excalibur Assassin 420TD, using a EOTech 512.XBOW sight. I was in a ladder stand. He came in to check a scrape I was set up on and was practically right underneath me. 151" Gross Score (my son says Nets are for fishing....).

That is pretty much the perfect rack . It will be hard to ever shoot one that passed it rack wise. Congrats on a beautiful deer.
Side note: I needed to use a crossbow for a few years because of a rotator cuff tear. Lots of therapy and strength training and shot 3 bucks with a bow in last 3 years. Not sure of your exact injury but there may be a way back you never know!
