Does anyone have a pet load for the .300 savage ?
Looking for a white tail load for my "99".

I use a 150 grain bullet in re-formed military 7.62 brass (sized and neck turned) with a standard Winchester Primer and 39.5 GR of 4064 in my M99. I have a peep sight on that rifle and I can get groups of around 1-3/8" at 100 yards. A few have been better, but I can bank on 1-3/8". I killed one of my antelope with that rifle and load just a month ago and the shot was just a bit over 200 yards. I have killed 8 antelope and 4 deer with it, all with that load above.

I also have a Remington M81 auto and I use the same brass and primer but in that rifle I like a 180 grain bullet. I loved the old WW Round Nose Power Points, but you can't get them anymore, so my last batch was loaded with 180 grain Sierra Round Nose. Another that works well is the 180 grain Nosler BT "Hunting "bullet. The shorter RN bullets shoot tighter groups because of the slower twist of the older rifles. In that gun I use 37.8 Gr of 4064 It has the original open sights. The best I can get from that rifle is around 2.5" but it's more likely the problem is me with my 65 year old eyes. I expect the gun might shoot a bit better, but there is no way for me to do it, so I accept that size groups and I use the rifle for hinting in brush and forest where any shots over 150 years never happen anyway. I have killed several deer and 1 antelope with it. The antelope was shot from an irrigation ditch next to an alfalfa field and I only had to shoot about 140 yards. I am good to about 200 yards with the open blade and bead and no more, so 2.5 MOA is perfectly OK for those ranges. I hope to kill an elk of 2 with my two 300 Savages before I get too old to hunt them anymore.

130 TTSX over 34.7gr H4198. Velocity is a touch over 2700fps 10' from the muzzle, and cloverleaf @ 50yds accurate with mild recoil.

40 g 4895, 150 Nosler BT for deer and antelope and 150 partition for elk. WLR primer. any old brass that's handy. Shoots about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" groups @ 100 yds

I used that load for years until I tried some Reloder 15. With 42 grains I got a bump in accuracy and velocity. Now I use Re15 for the .300 and the .250.

38gr 4064 and 150gr Sierra spitzer works well in all my 300’s. Very mild load for 150yrds or less and knocks them down!!

My accuracy load is 41.5 grs of 4064 using a Remington 150 gr core-lokt.

Did you find load data on R15 for the .250?

I'm sure I did once upon a time. I use 36.0 grains with the 87 grain Speer hotcore.

Lightfoot: is this 300 load with a 150gr bullet?

I load 45.5 grains of R-15 in the .250 Savage using the Hornady 100 gr interlock.

That seems pretty heavy for R-15.

Yes, Hornady and Corelokts.

36 gr IMR 3031 and a Hornaday 150RN, 35gr 3031 and a Rem 165 PSP in my 99 and my Rem 81 shoot to same point of aim as the factory Win 180 ST I carry hunting. The 99 groups better than the 81.

43 grains H4895 130gr Barnes TTSX

my accuracy load has always been varget, 42gr. and a 150gr. rem. CL bullet. 1/2 in. all day long. when i could no longer get the rem. then 150gr. Nosler BT, my daddy always loved 4064 but that was before varget came along,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I've been using IMR4320 with either 150 gr. Sierra's or Hornady 300 Savage SSTs. The charge weight and bullet vary for particular rifles. Now that IMR4320 is a thing of the past it's back to the drawing board, so I'll have to look into some of the other responses.

Nosler Partitions. 150gr if the gun likes it, but I've used 165gr and 180gr as well. IMR4895 for powder.
