Every spring after thinking and tinkering over the winter. Try to improve a few mounts and scope upgrades to get eye level and eye relief just right. Then the proof is in the testing.

My wife saw me swapp'n scopes in the shop. I just got the old "now you have to go shooting and "aim them in" again" complete with eye roll.

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😁

Zeroing is for suckers. I'm gonna do what my wife says and "aim them in."

LOL. I had all of my rifles out this evening sizing them up for a scope swap. I backed off.

I finally went and put rails on just about everything, stuck all the scopes in API rings.

Makes the yearly (or monthly) scope swap derby pretty dang easy - at least within the long action / short action families.

If I could keep better notes I’d save some components after swapping but wouldn’t be as much fun.

Most of my rifles are varmint caliber. And yes, I do some scope rotation. Just bought a new rifle and scope. The new scope will go on an old rifle and the old rifle scope will go on the new rifle. And if I don’t get them swapped soon, I might get another rifle/scope into the swap.

New scope maybe, usually don't pull them otherwise.

Finally, everything has its scope and there's a spare 6.5-20 Leupold in the safe.

That comes with experience, when you find what works and stick with that. Most of mine are set up and I don't mess with them, but when I was younger and going through a lot of different rifles, I used an American made Burris FFII 3-9x40 with ballistic plex reticle to test the rifles out. That particular scope has been on 9 different rifles and currently resides on a pre 64 model 70 30-06 fwt. It will stay there from here on out. The scope swap thing still happens on some of my rifles though. Recently a new 10-22 and a couple varmint rifles have had scopes swapped. However, with that being said, If you are a "rifle loony", you'll more than likely keep doing that, till you die. Get used to it...

I'm set for next year!!!

I've got a Weaver Classic 4x and a Weaver Grand Slam 4.75x on the shelf as extras. And a Bushnell Nitro 2.5-10x.

The shuffle got done early this year.

Only have 11 xtra scopes now selling a few in late January.

Found a lot of issues with certain Leupolds after scope swapping trying to resight one took 27 shots the other 21 shots after they came back from Leupold! Swapped them for Vortex Vipers sight in was 2 shots on one 3 shots on another.

Never swapped scopes, and most of mine are identical. Almost a one size fits all thing.

I'm guilty of moving a scope or two from time to time.

I am working on not getting more rifles at this time. I have everything covered, and I'm working on ensuring everything has a can on it, and an appropriate scope/red dot for it's intended use.

I'm actually looking to sell some handguns. I really only carry a few, and pretty much shoot them, .22's, or my USPSA guns.

I don't need "stuff" I need to do stuff.

Yep. I'm thinking about swapping the Burris 4.5-14 on my M7 6x45 to my Ruger M-77II .243 Win. and mounting the early Nikon 3-9x40 from the .243 on the 6x45. I just don't see the point of that much magnification on the 6x45 and it would shave a bit more weight off an already lightweight rifle.
