Looking for a good manufacturer of a 1885 Highwall in 45-70. Leaning toward some sort of reproduction/replica. Would like to keep price at or under $2000.00. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Browning reproduction made by Miroku. You should be able to find a new or used one for under $2000.
Gunbroker has a few under that price.

If C. Sharps in Montana still makes them, theirs were excellent. Don't know about price presently but my "plain Jane" Hiwall cost 'way under $2K ten years ago.
Was Mike Armstrong. Got logged off; couldn't log back on. RE-registered my old call sign, Mesa. FNG. Again. Mike Armstrong

I just checked C. Sharps website and they still list high walls at just under $2000. I have one of their Sharps 1874s in 45-70 and the quality is first rate.

Quality of the Browning Highwall is excellent if mine are any indication
I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

I had the Browning BPCR 45/70 wish I still did. It had a tang for a tang sight. As I understand the standard brownings did not have a tang. I have thought about a C Sharps model, I have a custom highwall in 40/70 SS

Originals can be found in that price range also. Two weeks ago I bought an original HW, built into a heavy barreled target rifle in .32-40, for $1100 on Gunbroker. (Bought it as a donor action for a project but made the mistake of shooting it. Accuracy is great so it shall remain unmolested.)
