Quartz is considered crystalline because you can see the crystals with the naked eye and the other two are considered mucrocrystalline because you can't. All three are relatively hard, chemically inert, and resistant to weathering which is why lots of beaches are made up of quartz sand. It's what's left when rocks are weathered down. A wise man is frequently humbled.
