The picture needs its own thread, but my Kromer gets compliments just about every time I wear it.

There was thread awhile back about some guy that took a beanie and wore it over a ball cap.

I guess it works.

Got a couple. They're exactly the same as the one my grandfather bought when my dad was a kid. Near as I can see.

Trend-setter! No tassel on the beanie I hope.

If it's cold and windy I really don't give a flying F what I look like.
Give me a thick wool beanie or a bomber.

I couldn't be happier! I immediately overheated in it sitting indoors.

So that’s your happy face?

Poor fella. Sometimes they don't look the same in real life compared to the catalog pictures.

Think I'll get a size or two larger. They seem to run small.

A few years ago I stopped at Shipton's Big R in Lewiston Mt and bought a Stormy Kromer Rancher's hat and a silk kerchief scarf. When I got home in Wisconsin my wife said "I can see you were hanging out with your drug store cowboy cousins". I continue to wear a "radar" cap in real cold weather.

Thanks all for the (mostly) kind comments.

As to it uses, shortly after I took that picture, I wandered into the family room and sat down. I was enjoying a plate of venison goetta in front of the TV when the screen got really dark around the margins. It has been slowly degrading since summer. It reminded me that it high time to replace the darn thing. I went back into my office and looked up who had the best deal on a 52" or better screen.

Long story short: I was at Best Buy when it opened up. I had bought a 70-incher on sale. It was one of those in-store pickup gigs, where you show the fellow your receipt and he goes in the back and wheels out the purchase. The counter monkey I talked to told me to bring the truck around front, and he would bring it out to me. I complied.

Here's the odd part. I got my truck up to the front and got out. It was then I realized I was behind 2 other trucks ( a Ford and a GMC), and they were piloted by over-weight middle-aged men conforming to my general affect. What are the odds? What's more, we were all three going after the 70" Samsungs that were on sale.

Me? I definitely had them on hats. My Stormy Kromer was the king of the lot.

The epilog: By Noon, the old set was out, the new set was in, and I was able to watch absolutely the best afternoon of football, a Cincinnati Bengals fan could imagine: back to back to back Green Bay beating the Browns, the Bengals beating the snot out of the Ravens and the Chiefs laying waste to the Steelers.
