Scopes I’ve had on various 270’s:
2-7x33 6x36 2.5-8x36 3-9x40
Any of them work, and I’ve never found the need for anything more than 10x at the upper range.

Surely you didn’t go buy a .270? Yup. We got everything else.

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

I have a Leupold VX-5 HD 3-15x44 on my 270. I like it a lot. It covers both ends of the spectrum well.

I think a classic Winchester should be paired with a Leupold . Mine wears an older Vx-III 3.5-10

My coyote calling partner has a Leupold 2.5-8 on his Featherweight 22-250 and loves it. When I gave my dad a Featherweight in 270 it was wearing a Japan built Tasco 2-7, he killed a lot of deer up in northern WI with it. My Model 70 222 Rem calling rifle wore a Meopta 1.5-6x40ish never felt the need for mor than that and my old Model 70 in 7mm RM did just fine in northern MN with a 1-4x20mm. With the new 2-12x40ish scopes I'd look hard at one, I just equipped my now 20P calling rifle with one and have another in a box waiting for a barrel and action to arrive, pretty much the best of both worlds.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.
Make mine a Minaska

So I managed to find a model 70 featherweight 270 Winchester which have been looking for. What scope would you put on this to keep it svelte????? Talley l/w rings of course. For a M70/.270 Win.? Leupold VX-3i 2.5-8x36mm in Talley Lightweight 1 inch, M70/Montana Model 1999, Extra Low mounts... GR

I have a Leupold 6x36 on my .270 Featherweight. That’s a photoshop picture. There is zero ways to hell that you own such a small pew-pew. Try again, and this time lean into the 460 Wby Mag. Merry Late Christmas, elkh. 😬🦫
