I picked up some 120 gold dots to load in my 6.5 cm and 260 for deer and hogs

I read in several threads that the 120s were built for the 6.5 grendel

Am i wasting my time working up a load for this bullet if its designed for lower velocity

I've heard nothing but good things about them. Wish I could find some myself

My dad worked up a load for the 120gr GD in his 6.5x55 (same general wheelhouse) a couple of hunting seasons back. They shot good. He did a jug expansion test and the expansion / retention was good. He wound up shooting a deer with one at about 150yds away. The bullet killed the deer but there wasn't much of a blood trail and entrance/exit wounds were on the small side. Since then he's moved on to other bullets.

I can't tell you what will work for you and your gun but at the very least you won't be wasting your time. The bullet will kill and possibly do better in your 260 or 6.5 creedmoor.

I just checked Speer site and no data on the 120 for 260 or 6.5 cm. It listed it under grendel

They shoot real well in my CM. Sure would like to hear some more real world experience on deer.

I load 120 TTSX for three Creeds, they shoot great. The 120 grain seems perfect for the Creed if you are shooting under 300 yards. I’d go 140’s at longer ranges. I bet the gold dots would do fine on deer and pigs.

I load the 1200 TTSX in 260 Rem. 6.5 CM and 6.5 Rem Mag - they work really well, they will owrk load them up, 120 destroy whatever gets in front of them.
