Was at the county "Transfer Station" (i.e. collection point before the county landfill) today.

Lady in front of me was taking forever, different types of plastics, cardboard, steel cans, paper products, 4 different colors of glass, aluminum cans. All carefully rinsed out at home and sorted... then "recycled".

Simple yes or no question... and simply why... or why not.

Thanks

No.

Well....we reuse a lot of shìt...and get mostly hand me down clothing.

But recycling....no. It's bad for the environment, is a tax or wealth transfer, encourages consumption, and more often than not.....ends in the landfill anyway.

So...it's great for big business and the govt.

Bad for consumers and the planet.

Yes, our paper, plastics, and food cans are collected every other week. Isn't difficult for me.

Yes.

At work we had two sets of trash bins - regular trash bins and recycling bins for paper, cans and such. I was working late one night and the Serbian janitor was coming through emptying them. He emptied both types of bins into the one large trash bin he was pushing around...

Cash;
Good evening to you sir, I hope you're keeping warm and well.

We do recycle as much as possible, yes.

Like trying to buy stuff made in Canada or the US, I figure it's a start?

All the best to you all.

Our recycling effort got chit canned because it was too expensive for a county of our size. I guess you recycle aluminum cans at the metal place.

All quite true, but rather than act out of spite, I do recycle many things. Paper, batteries, and plastic, though, get burnt. The solution to pollution, etc., and way out in the boonies where I live I'd put more emissions into the atmosphere hauling it to the recyclers than simply adding it to the regular burn pile.

Thought about getting myself a garbage truck off of govdeals. The market is ripe out here for trash service.

Maybe y'all should Google "The truth about recycling."

Recycling collection costs multiple times more in taxes than trash collection does.

China banned recycled plastics exported to China in 2018. No other country accepts them now.

91% of recycled items are incarcerated, dumped in the ocean or go directly to the landfill.

Quite literally the only recycled item to be "Worth the effort to recycle" are aluminum cans.

Yes.

By recycling and using two cans, what I pay is less than what I would pay on a single can large enough to meet my needs. I additionally separate out aluminum which goes to a church youth group and steel and copper/brass which goes to my toy fund.
