Find a younger / new hunter to take.

Might spark things back up for you.

I still enjoy it as well, I can't wait for the grand kids to go with me. Next year I will be able to take them. There are 7 and 9.

You just need to get a handicap - no scope or handgun only...

It is not the hunting I miss, but my knees and hip really hurt . I took a 3 mile walk through the swamp yesterday , and my body is darn sore. I went with dismal expectations of even seeing a deer, and those expectations were were met. However, I did find a big old buck skull with both antlers attached. I guess I can try to make a pick, but I dont have any way to get it on the screen. I also am happy to have had the 12 point buck on the trail cam from Nov. 2016. It is a weird rack and hardly a doubt it is the same deer. I am sure it has been there for several years, and maybe died the same year I got the pic.

Killing deer with a rifle is too easy, maybe I'll wound one without a scope or with a handgun. That makes it more challenging?

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

You're an idiot.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I have folks ask me to let their kid shoot a deer or target practice. Unless it is family I tell them the kid is welcome but Dad or Mom have to come with him/her. I don't go places alone with women not my wife or children not my own.

I know I am really going to miss it. 2021 was probably my last year. I was put on Oxygen and those little portable units run about $3000 which I can't afford. I am waiting for pre approval right now for a concentrator

If you can't get in shape enough to get out it means there is something wrong with you. See a Dr if it can't be fixed get him to authorize a handicap sticker and look in to wheeled transportation to get you out in the field. My grand daughter is 30 something and it takes me at least a month to get ready for hunting season and I'm active all year. Hunting season for me lasts from oct thru March and then it is archery carp, 3D shoots, fishing and getting ready for hunting season.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.
