If they see any big rams up there, let me know. Otherwise, never mind. I hope they enjoy every minute of their important, selfless adventure.

Just proves what a bunch of racists those mountain climbers are. You never seem to see any diversity there. Now we can have affirmative action mountain climbers.

Historically there haven't been a lot of black climbers. If a group of them wants to climb Everest, why not? But for diversity? Pure BS.

This seems more like a political statement than anything. If that's the case, most of the group are probably not serious climbers, and the Sherpas and guides will have to drag them up the mountain.

Everest has become sort of rich person's playground in recent years, with the well heeled hiring guides to get them to the summit so they can brag about it.

Can a helicopter land on Mount Everest?
The simple and direct answer of this question is YES a helicopter can land to the Mount Everest summit. Some people did it already in the history but it’s not a common practice.

Mike I will look into this but I have to call BS. As far as I know they reached camp 2. But NEVER has the summit been reached by helicopter

If you are interested in Mt Everest, check out this documentary. A crazy Sherpa and his buddy climb Mt Everest and paraglide in tandem off the summit, setting a world record for highest paraglide. They catch an updraft and actually fly over the top of the summit. Insane.

I guess they failed to realize most blacks live near the equator -where it is hot! Not many blacks like super cold weather. Hope they make it.

These guys are comedians.

A black American chick summited Everest, solo, in 2006. It was witnessed by two Sherpas who were there.

Apparently, she didn't get the memo about the intentional lack of access for black folks.

Are these guys real "blue-gums", or a bunch of "high yellow" hybrids?

Yeah I'm sure many of us were thinking along the same lines.

Every expedition on Everest has to use Sherpas and they are not white. There have been a number of Japanese climbers and they are not white. There have been a number of Chinese climbers and they are not white. In 2013 a Mexican climber became the first person to climb the mountain from both the northern and southern routes in the same year and he was not white. In 2016 a female Mexican made it to the summit and she was not white. In 2003 a black man from South Africa named Sibusiso Vilane made it to the summit and he was not white. Also in 2003 the first Arab man made it to the summit and in 2013 the first Arab female made it to the summit, neither was white.

Seems to me that the ethnicities of people that made it to the top of that rock pretty much cover the whole spectrum. Just sayin...
