Anyone own one or have any thoughts on them? Buddy has one but the trigger is stiff any thoughts or reviews appreciated.

My brother's left handed model 110 trigger assembly seems sort of weird or maybe unique.... If it were me, I would have it adjusted by a gunsmith with some experience. It's too different for me to trust myself with any modifications.

There are some good and relatively inexpensive replacement triggers out there. But on my early Savage 110s I replaced the L shaped spring with a spring I made from a buzz bait and got the weight down under 3#. Some of that generation triggers can be gritty, but a little crocus cloth can usually give a smooth pull. The early Savage triggers had sear adjustment screws. I think the FP series still had them. That adjustment helps a lot when combined with the lighter L spring.
Edited to add that the Rifle Basix trigger is a better machined copy of the early Savage trigger. They can be had for about $85.

I have a handful of Salvage 10 whatevers and put Sharp Shooter triggers on them all. It was night and day, after a lot of fiddling with the safety bar. But the compound leverage concept Fred Moreo dreamed up was a huge advance. Have no idea if Fred still makes his units, but at the time, it was ace work. Now, the Accutrigger is pretty good stuff.

It appears that Sharpshooter has stopped production of all their Savage triggers. I guess enough people are satisfied with their Accutriggers that there isn't much of a market for aftermarket triggers.

I had an older 12FV, same 3 screw trigger set up.
A lot of polishing on mating surfaces and I replaced the spring with a wire from a spinnerbait.
Probably ended up a 2# trigger. It may have been easier to buy a good aftermarket but I was too broke at the time to spend $$ on a trigger.

Another option for the spring is "music wire" from the hobby store. My pack says .039" diameter. Worked good on several older Savages.

I used a buzz bait wire which is piano wire of about .040-.041 diameter. The buzz bait wire is a bit thicker than the spinner bait wire. I have bought them from a bait and tackle shop as just the wire, but realized I could buy a cheap buzz bait from the local Walmart for $.99 and avoid a drive of 30 miles to the bait shop. The wire will supply 2 trigger springs. I got a trigger pull that satisfied me and didn't cost me $100 or more for a replacement trigger.
