This is the Snake River canyon at Twin Falls, ID. That bridge is 480' high. There are houses and businesses in places along the rim. There's never been a case of any buildings falling into the canyon but there are numerous huge rocks in the bottom that have fallen off over time. This area certainly isn't immune to earthquakes. We had that at the Missouri river years ago. A bluff collapsed and we got hit with mud and water but no big rocks. Scared us pretty good.
