Hey all,

There have been some great looking pictures of Howa rifles in Sako Classic stocks here on the board, but I wanted to ask you guys who have them or have shot them, please...Is the comb height as low as it looks? Maybe its just the pictures but it really looks low.

I picked up a Vanguard Select at a very good price and I like the rifle itself a lot but I'm having trouble learning to live with the factory stock as far as ergonomics go. Hate to mess with a shooter, as most of its groups thus far have been slightly under an inch and that pleases me just fine. but lets say keeping the options open.

I have a howa in one and the comb sits really low. I had to put on a cheek riser built for an fn fal in order to get my eye lined up with the scope.

Thanks jrod. I know we're all built differently and for some of us it might be the cat's ass but it does look quite low.

Think I might just try hard to live with the factory tupperware. Its a good stock other than how it fits me.

I have several Sako classic stocks (all of them surprisingly on Sako rifles). My favorite hunting stock. Have never thought once the comb was too low..............could be the anti-Weatherby stock though

I had a McMillan Classic one on a Howa 1500.. could not get a proper check weld on the stock even with the lowest mounts.
And the grip is small.. my pinky would not fit the grip.

A Sako Hunter is better in every way.
