IIRC, highest per capita consumption nationally. Like ice cream in Alaska.

I keep it in my boat. Makes decent crawdad bait, builds a nice fire and in a pinch I can stuff it in a wheel bearing for lube.
I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.

I like it best cold from the can. Frying it seems to bring out the saltiness. (I still do it sometimes.) I'll either make a sandwich of it or else have it on a plate with some chunks of cheese, cut pieces of each and transport them to my mouth on the end of the knife. Usually have some chunks of raw vegetables along with it and some olives. Same

Fry yesterday's rice, that has been refrigerated for a day after cooking, in garlic butter after briefly sautéing sliced green onions in it. Add the diced spam and Crack a few eggs in it. Stir fry together adding a bit of soy sauce or Yoshidas watered down as you're finishing stir frying.

Wife says in China they serve Spam at Mickey D’s and KFC. Think I’d prefer a McRib, though come to think of it, a McRib kinda is Spam of a sort.
What fresh Hell is this?

Spam? Is that the stuff made out of pig lips and bull buttholes?
Yea it’s not bad!

There is no wrong way to eat that Schitt. Couple of my pro tips - try it in Reuben sandwich replacing the corned beef, all other elements the same. Cube it up and use in a pasta Carbonara dish replacing the pancetta. Two of my personal favorite applications. Don't you work in the food industry? Replacing good pancetta with Spam? Sheesh.

I see it stacked on pallets in the walmarts. Thought about trying it.
I’ve never eaten Spam.
I hear they find cans of it from the Byrd and Ammundsen expeditions in cold places that are still good. Even the slow growing, cold loving bacteria won't touch it. Probably fine if still sealed. Get it? Sealed! 😆 Imagine a facepalm emoji here.

Spam and cornmeal has kept me alive too many times, best survival food going! From Laos to the Arctic, always had it, sometimes for 2 weeks straight!! Ever read Pinnell & Talifson, "Last of the Great Bear Men" by Clark? They bought it by the case!

Dad never allowed it in the house. He said he ate too much of it during his time in the service in China and Japan. We fry up Treet meat or slice it cold on sandwiches. Always tasted good when I was hungry.

Say you’re at a remote hunting or fishing cabin. Say the local supermarket is actually a gas station. You have heavy cream, eggs, pasta, an onion or garlic, black pepper corns, crappy Parmesan cheese in the can. No guy, there ain’t no pancetta. This is where The Chef pulls away from the novice cook. The Wheat separates from the chaff. Plus, SPAM is fun.

Sliced and fried on a bun with a fried egg and some American cheese.
Topped with Chipotle Cholula.
Great minds think alike.
