Of course Jovino's guns were actually the "tactical" guns for many of that era, especially in places that only allowed revolvers.

I am afraid if I owned either of those they would not look as pristine, as I know darn well I would carry them in the mountains. Any self-respecting bear or lion should be honored to get plugged by such a fine looking piece! Couple one of those in a Milt Sparks rig and you would have one seriously badazz looking setup!

Boy Howdy, you ain't kidding, Mac. That Jovino is something else.

Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want.

Rehabilitation is way overrated.

I love those Jovino Specials! Anyone else remember the "Terminators"? A guy in a neighboring battalion at Fort Bragg had one in .45 Colt that he wanted to get rid of because "ammo was expensive". I told him if he saved his brass, I could reload for him. He didn't have any brass because he had never shot it. (He also seemed mystified by the concept of handloading; he seemed to think I was making it up.)

He also didn't like that it was an Astra, because he had never heard of them. I don't know how he ended up with it, but I thought it was a pretty slick piece and told him I'd be interested if he decided to get rid of it. Went to Haiti for a few weeks and checked with him when I got back:

He had traded it.

For a S&W Sigma.
