I was thinking that I and I suppose some others, vets mostly, have come to change our view on MLK. Back in the day, anybody from Korea, VN, Cold War who had looked over their sights or radar screens at the Communists, thought that MLK was pretty much a "useful idiot" of the Reds. Even with revisionist history, there is no question he received aid from them. So to the cold war vets, that was a stain that could not be forgiven, Jane Fonda in blackface. So now I compare MLK with the current crop of African American, so called leaders, who are clearly not concerned with the well being pf their people. The current crop, Sharpton, Jackson, Obamas, who are nothing but agitators, hustlers, con men and outright extortionists make MLK look pretty good, but only by comparison. People like Clarence Thomas and Thomas Sowell who are natural leaders are not even mentioned. How far we have sunk.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

There are others as well. Tim Scott from South Carolina and the new Lt. Governor of Virginia, Winsome Sears. I think a much better future for America is on the horizon if we can get a handle on the vote cheating and ballot stealing. I have no problem with judging a person based on the color of their character but the democRATS and the mainstream media don't want that to happen. The democRATS need strife and conflict to stay in power. That is why they are going on a full court press to get the voting rights act in before the 2022 elections.

MLK certainly had some personal moral vices, but his message was very consistent.
He spoke for equality, not the "more equal" that blacks demand and receive.
He said a man should be judged by his character, not the color of his skin. Today, they want their own character overlooked, but judge whites by the color of their skin.
He spoke of a society that paid no attention to race. Today, they want to be paid for their race.
He preached peaceful protesting and not "mostly peaceful" protesting. He would have been horrified at the violence blacks are getting away with and, if not participating in, are endorsing and supporting today.

As a minister of the gospel, I have no respect for him because of his sexual immorality, but as a champion for equality, I do have respect for him because he sought equality, not special treatment.

Communists attached themselves to the "civil rights movement" and remain so to this day...even though no one is being denied any rights these days except for white conservatives. Its standard procedure for commies attempting to take over a country to mobilize the disaffected against the majority. King was a communist.

Its not to say that blacks didn't have a legitimate beef about being treated as second class citizens. They did. Just think however, how much further along they and the entire country would be if someone like Thomas Sowell led the Civil rights movement as opposed to commie King.

You know things are bad when many Black people think MLK was wrong.

While MLK may today be seen as a moderate voice, the damage he did is no less profound and brought us to right where we are now.

King's message was correct. He probably wasn't the best messenger, but he gave it a shot where others didn't. What I find amusing is that now the Democrats enshrine him and bastardize his message, they were the organization fighting tooth and nail against equal rights for black folks.

Deserves a bump. Very well said.

King was a philandering rabble rouser who traveled around the country with a harem of nubile young concubines while Coretta stayed home raising their kids. If he hadn't been killed, he would have become as cartoonish and irrelevant as Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton in his later years. His family turned playing the oppressed and downtrodden minority into a cash cow that they milked dry as they fought among themselves to determine who was the best qualified to lead the pity party. By the time Ray gave him an extra eye socket, he was already on a downhill slide- - - -supporting something as ridiculous as a trash collectors' strike in Memphis. That's a pretty deep drop from reading a scripted address that someone else probably wrote for him to a huge crowd of followers in Washington DC.

At first glance, as an ethnic group the Africans seem to make some strange choices in leadership....but then I am reminded of our own choices in leadership, Bush's, Clintons, Carter's, Obama's, Bidens...not much room to throw rocks in that greenhouse.

Well people look where equal rights have gotten us. All major cities with the majority of minorities are cesspools. Has is this better than it was. The blacks were not killing each other in record numbers every year. Half their population were not drug addicts.
Oh well I guess it’s free will but the working people should not have to fund it. Edk
