My Dad's favorite sandwich was ham and grape jelly on white bread. Now, I know that sounds weird, but think about how well the salt of ham and sweet go together - such as Honey-baked Ham. I had one today for lunch. My, my, my; the memories and the great flavors.
Next time you have some nice ham, try it. Grape, strawberry, blackberry jam - they all work just fine. You'll be very happy you did.

I too like the bacon and jam on a biscuit.
As far as ham goes, is this country ham or just regular ham? I do like country ham on a biscuit with grape jelly, but never thought about making it into a sandwich.

Sounds good to me. Over the holiday I had some biscuits with ham and apricot jam at a brunch. That was pretty tasty.

It doesn't have to be country ham. A slab of baked ham is best, but even "deli" style is tasty this way.

Grape jelly on meat sounds weird, but it turns out to be a tasty combination. I was surprised how well this kielbasa appetizer is including grape jelly. https://www.momontimeout.com/slow-cooker-kielbasa-bites/

Wife didn't have breakfast sausage for her Xmas morning french toast casserole one year and I talked her into using cubed ham from previous nights family get together. It was fantastic. To be clear she tops the casserole with raspberry and boysenberry preserves after it comes out of oven.
Savory and sweet, always a classic combo.

Cover a ham with a jar of Grape jelly or Orange marmalade when baking or roasting.
Make your tongue reach out and slap the shi.t out of you.

Yup. This on crusty sourdough with Swiss and mayo. You could eat lunch meat with my Dad. Pimento loaf, olive loaf, pickle loaf. Thought I went to heaven when I bought myself meat without little green bits in it.

A jalapeño jelly on a roast beef sandwich is good also.
