Kamo-

I always find your write ups and pictorials enjoyable. This time I’m a little pissed off as all that food looks amazing, and I’m sitting here not able to taste a dammed thing. When my taste buds reappear- ramen is high on the long list of things I’m looking forward to tasting.

Thanks, Robert. Proper, practically made-to-order ramen is out of this world. As is so often the case, this thread has morphed. INSTANT 'ramen' noodles has zero to do with freshly made noodles prepared to perfection by someone who knows what good food means. As is so often the case, not everything is black and white.

Ate a ton of them, when I was stationed in Taiwan 71/72. 1 1/2 cents per package. Drop a raw egg on top after it is cooked, stir, put a lid on top and wait a minute. Amazing eats for the price.

Some mornings, it just does not feel worth it to chew through the straps!~

Real ramen is like in Kamo Gari's pictures, it's got very little in common with the instant packages we have in the U.S. A lot of Japanese noodle shops make their noodles in house every day. A bowl of spicy ramen with pork on top with a half dozen gyoza and a beer is a pretty heavenly meal.

I'm in Japan right now but unfortunately because of Covid rules I'm restricted to the hotel. There are a half dozen noodle shops within a couple blocks of me but I can't go to them. Kamo Gari's pictures have my mouth watering.

Ippudo is a big ramen chain in Japan and they're pretty good. It looks like they've opened a couple of restaurants in the U.S.

Here, this should help;

tent/hiking/ camping

hunting

camper food

broken if in pkgs, whole in styrofoam cups.

Preferably with some meat added, usually wieners. Or a side of jerky and cheese.
