Man, was out over the weekend, birds everywhere, BUT the cover is so thick it is gonna be hard hunting. Was in a milo field that on average the tops of the heads were at 5' tall. The CRP grass is 4 - 6' tall and really thick this year. A snow before season and it will really be the schitts to walk.

Report in Sunday's Eagle was also good. I've heard others say the same thing as well. SOunds like a good season. If there's birds I don't mind crashing through the grass and brush...

THAT was a nasty winter...but also "heard" that near ideal nesting conditions, should have produced well.

That storm last winter was a bad one. All we had here was the 4" rain that then froze. I know in Jan. we had a lot of pheasants with no tailfeathers.
