After all of the other three playoff games ended in walk off field goals, the Bills-Chiefs game was even more suspenseful. 25 points scored after the 2 minute warning. Touchdown, touchdown, touchdown + 2 point conversion and the Chiefs go from their 25 to field goal range in 10 seconds to score the tying field goal. Absolutely amazing.
I don't want to take a thing away from the Chiefs' win, but this game shows that the NFL's overtime rules need to be changed. After everything that went on in regulation, it's just not right that a coin toss is so important. The other team should get a chance to answer. The college system is much better.
That said, what an incredible game!

They need to change the overtime rules. Correct, can’t have a game like this decided by a coin flip. It is what it is.... For now. Needs to be looked at. Each team should get 1 possesion like you said. If neither scores on their 1st possession 1st score after that wins. 1st team scores on 1st possession and other fails to score on 1st possession = game over. Any type of scoring. Too simple....

The margin of victory for all four playoff games added together was a whopping 15 points. All four games ended regulation with a last second field goal. Wow.

While I’m happy for the Chiefs win, I agree the college OT rules are much better. But for now, we’ll take the win!

Gonna be tough for any of the next 3 games to be anywhere close to that. We can hope, but I doubt it. Beat me to it Longbow! That to me was the Super Bowl. The rest are just playoffs. Can’t see a better game from here!

Kinda sorta funny that there are guys on this thread who are leaders of the "TOM BRADY" "GOAT" brigade that thought the OT rules were fair and balanced in Superbowl 51...
You can no more tell someone how to do something you've never done, than you can come back from somewhere you've never been...

Anyone with half a brain can see the NFL OT rules arent fair. Dumbasses think the powers that be didnt realize that when they instituted them. Wonder why they didnt want to be fair? Why dont they let them play another quarter? If tied then, the team with the most offensive yards in OT wins.

It's all about TV time slots. They don't want things dragging.out. I don't see why they can't change it for the playoffs. Hockey does. It needs to be a set time period for the playoffs.

There is too much parity and a game is decided by a coin flip. If they adapted College rules , these games would go on for months.

Their entire season hangs on their crap rule.

There is that option

Actually; it is different in the Playoffs. They play to a winner; no ties like regular season

That was a terrific game, never seen a game close to that one. The announcers sure thaought that buffalo had it, and the players were celebrating a bit early, as it turns out.
