My brother and I; perhaps other family members, are looking at doing an antelope hunt in the US in a couple of years. Primarily because of how long it takes to draw a tag in Alberta.
Ideally we would like an opportunity to pick up doe tags as well as a buck tag. We have not started to apply for "points" anywhere yet. We have no issues going with a guided hunt if that increases our odds of getting what we want or doing "self guided" if that is an option.
Wyoming is an obvious place to start my research, any other thoughts on where I should begin looking?
Any input is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

New Mexico (unless something has changed) has landowner tags so you don’t have to worry about a draw or points. I killed my first goat there in 97. Texas has the same setup with landowner tags.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Don't waste your time researching Idaho. Tags are very hard to draw (I've only drawn twice in 40 years) and there's no point system.

Texas and new Mexico are a good bet. I gave done well in both states. Do a search on each state for pronghorn outfitters and you should find many. Last year in the Texas Panhandle and with a muzzle loader!

I've never understood the go the outfitter route unless you are specifically looking for true trophy buck. Many outfitters will put you on a 12 inch buck and tell you it's a trophy. Get some PP and go DIY unless you just can't wait to build those PP. Doe tags are additional and do not take PP. You could always come down for a doe hunt and get some meat and maybe learn an area for a buck hunt. If you can line up private access in a low PP area go for it. Some to be had but you'll pay. Lots of landowners now charge for pronghorn when in the past access was easy to get for free.
Numbers are down across Wyoming so a couple of years down the road may be better.

The last couple years have been kinda screwy with pressure on the Montana tag system (or so it seams) and I know lots of MT residents that have not drawn in what were traditionally very high odds districts. Historically eastern Montana has had good tag availability, good numbers and reasonable access. Getting tougher every year but may be worth a shot, especially given your proximity.

https://www.hunttalk.com/threads/introduction-and-wy-antelope-unit-24.264499/ A friend goes on a private ranch, unit 24, WY. It seems it’s a kinda easy 2 in the bag every year. I almost went one year, then his regulars committed again. The price he mentioned seemed very reasonable, stays at a hotel in town. If going out, I’d be ready to pivot to prairie dogging, should you tag out.
