Pics would help a rare one worth a lot if all original.
Looks nice think you could get a lot with the right audience and better pictures.

What I see looks original. Offered with caveat that what you don't offer in pix, may be entirely relevant to value in context of "collector value specimen". Shooters another matter, but conjuring your here seeking "highest & best value". You can fill in some blanks as assuring the SN dates to 1968 or later, that the barrel is a true 19.5" and no too-often recoil pad present or discernably vestiges!
Congrats on a potentially nice/valuable gun John

Best! John Thank you. I’ve been offered $2200 locally from a guy that’s been after one for years. Is that a fair price?

I think that's a little low for a 284 88 carbine. I sold one a couple of years ago at Tulsa that was just average condition, used but not abused for over 3k.

I wouldn’t sell it for $2200

I've been offered $3K for one of mine and passed on it.
Winchester 88 carbines are uncommon and those in 284 are very, very, uncommon. I think that I've seen fewer than 10 in all of the years that I've been around Winchesters.

How many of these elusive 88 284 carbines were made? I believe they were only made for three years 68,69, and 70

Looks like about a little more than 7000 in 284. Picked one up today
