OK, so whether you're an HG Wells man or do your time traveling in a customized Delorean, you're heading back to the Pleistocene for a two week safari. That means giant bison, mammoth, wolves, American lions (bigger than African), and giant short-faced bear are all walking around. You get to take *one* gun and 40 rounds of ammo -- can be a rifle, shotgun, or pistol -- and it *has to be a gun that you already own right now.* Switch barrels aren't allowed!

What are you toting along?

My choice would be the Winchester 670 in 9.3x62 (fluorescent ghost ring sight) that I've been working on. Mix of 286 grain solids and partitions.

Do they make them heavier than 200?

That would be my Win M70 416 Rem in a McM stock with Wisner open sights. It now wears a Burris Signature Safari 1.75-5X with Posi-Lock though the VX III 1.5-5X worked fine. The 350 gr TSX would remain.

Toss up between my custom Mod70 375 Belted Mag in modified Legend or double H&H 375 Flanged Mag with scope.

Sounds like a lot of fun though!

Well [bleep]. I guess I’ve got to decide whether to go the 12ga slug route or see if the guy I just traded all my 200gr partitions to wants to trade them back so I can put them in a cheap .30-06 with a 3 round blind mag.

[bleep] it. I’m taking the .243 with 80ttsx. At least I’ll die with my favorite rifle

I don't have any large caliber rifles anymore so it would have to be either my Ruger 1B or Remington 7600 in 3006 with 220gr. Core Lokts.

Well I have sold my 338 win and 375 h&h recently. So my best option is a left handed model 70 in 7mm rem mag, probably with 160 tsx or 175 partition.

The only suitable rifle I currently own is probably my model 70 in 375 H& H. I guess I’d want 10 or 15 solids, though I have no experience with solids. I could probably be happy with the remainder being either 250 grain tipped triple shocks or 300 grain partitions.

Indeed, Bruce! But who has to be the guy that gets stomped in the process? 1-2-3 not it 😂. Plus a bison jump or catching a mammoth in quick sand would ruin the mount.
