When I went for my they prescribed me a Swift enema (brand name).

When I got to the hospital the nurse asked me “Did you use the Swift?”

I said “Yeah, it tasted terrible!”

“You didn’t drink it, did you??!!!”

Yeah- like asbestos removal. I understand Sweden only uses 70 year old and ups.... Foggers gonna die anyway, why waste resources? smile

I've had polyps removed the last 3 - hence the 5 year plan. Only 2 more to go for me.

I agree. My buddy smokes and wore a mask because he was scared of covid. People aren't scared of cigarettes but they're scared of covid or colon cancer?

Couldnt even get people to post pics of cholesterol lab numbers. Tell me some are FOS or are too dumb to have and maintain an electronic medical patient portal.

I probably had 15 - 20 cystoscopy's ( flexible bladder scope) and they never knocked me out. Med insurance won't cover it. The bonus is it only lasts for a few minutes. Numbing the little hole is shall we say uncomfortable and does not do much. Getting past the prostate is quite a bump in the road. Glad I got past all that but will be forever paranoid on multiple levels

I’ve only had about 10,11. Stent placements.

There are some sharp curves since the transplant is in the pelvis beside the bladder, so the bulbar hump, then some wonky twists and turns.
My stents are flexi metal now, cobalt. So the procedures are spaced out further.

They put me under general also because sometimes they cannot execute from a retrograde approach and have to wheel me over to interventional radiology and punch the stent in from the topside, antegrade directly into the abdominal wall and into the calyx of the kidney and thread the stent downward.

Have had one done with only the lidocaine squirt. Nope not again.

Worst part for me was asking up in recovery. The doc was telling my wife that despite what she may have believed, he did not find my head up there. She told to look again. That he obviously hadn’t looked far enough.

Done 4 of them.

2 flexible sigmoidoscopy before that. They didn't give me ANY dope for those. The second one hurt like hell. Squealed out like a little girl. Told the Doc afterwards that was the last time I would participate in that test.

Definitely do the drugs. Whatever they used on me for the colonoscopy is good stuff.

My dad had colon cancer. I'll submit to the azz reaming to avoid what he had to deal with.

To hell with cancer.

A little over 3 years ago i had an ulcer rupture.

They gutted me and removed most of my stomach and while there they mapped my intestines because they had to remove part where the lower valve was.

Some where in my records they have a map of what the inside of them look like.

Needless to say i won't be getting scoped anymore.
