I’m stuck between Bartlein or Proof carbon barrels for a new build. It’s either the Bartlein M24 contour or proofs sendero. They are very similar in size so I should be able to use either one in my stock. There are tons of proof sendero photos out there, how about any of the Bartlein M24. What’s your opinion on the two manufacturers?
Its going to be 26” 300wm in a win model 70 stainless action with a manners-T elite stock. Any build photos or pictures of the barrels or blanks compared to each other would be great.

What you are asking is a really tough question for me.........
Some of the absolute most accurate barrels I have ever owned are Bartlein, never owned a bad one but I have never had one of their carbon barrel's. cant imagine them putting out a product that was not excellent.
When Proof Research first started out they had a few issues but that was years ago, their new barrels are awesome. I think they are excellent and my friends that have them would say that also. I don't think you could go wrong with either one. I would buy a Bartlein or a Proof Research 10 times out of 10 over a Christensen

I have 2 CF wrapped #4 contour Bartleins and both shoot like a Bartlein should - fantastic! The new Proof barrels are probably also an excellent barrel - I will say they are "prettier" than the Bart wrapped barrels but doubt they shoot any better.

Thank you both, there wasn’t a lot of current information out there on proof and Bartlein is so new to the carbon market. I have bartlein steel barrels myself that shoot great. I just ordered a proof since the sendero is a better fit to my stock, looking forward to giving them a shot. I really appreciate the feedback, I feel good with my choice.

I've posted this picture before but not sure if you have seen it?? Anyway, the stock is a Proof CF stock inlet for their Sendero/Sendero Lite contour barrels. This is the Bart #4 in it, as you can see it doesn't look at that IMHO - its a little generous on both sides but not that bad of a fit.

What's under the carbon of both brands of carbon barrels is the question for me.
"Thinking" that Proof builds up solid carbon fiber from the base metal to the OD, & some companies have a tube or sleeve of carbon over the base metal with a gap or flutes & a gap.
How does Bartlein do it? Would be the start for my questions.
If I'm way over my head on this please excuse me. All I know is I want a Proof, but a Bartlein seems to be able to be obtained for less greebacks.

A Proof is definitely cheaper than a carbon wrapped Bartlein.

A Proof is definitely cheaper than a carbon wrapped Bartlein. ???? Bartleins usually run $700 to $745, Proof runs $779 - $799 but are on sale on occasion. I paid $700 for both of my Barts.

I've had 3 Proofs, wasn't that impressed with the accuracy. If I build another carbon wrapped barrel, I may try the Bartlein. Following your project.

26” Proof Sendero should arrive tomorrow. I’ll be sending off to LRI shortly. Most of the feedback I have heard outside of this post is that both are great quality and the odds of having a great shooting barrel is equal between both manufacturers. I went with Proof because it fit my barrel channel better, I’ll keep you all posted on the progress.

I went with the Proof as I was looking for a pre-fit for my Defiance Tenacity action (yes, the Ruckus barrels will fit the Tenacity with the recessed bolt face) and I could get it immediately. I could have ordered one but I really didn't want to wait 6 months if I didn't have to. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1023514744?pid=157120
