Yea
I been listening to him since about 1996

He had a niche then.

I’m sure 90% on here never heard of him till this thread.

There’s fools on here still don’t know about Foghat

slumlord;
Good evening sir, I hope the day's been a good one for you and you're all well.

Somehow I didn't think you were "of that vintage" to listen to Foghat? wink

I'm old enough to remember when they were on the AM radio, but then as my girls like to remind me, I am about half dead. laugh

It was always a tie between Slow Ride and this one for me. I had the cassette tape of Fool for the City too back when I had hair and a loud car.

Thanks for the trip down the sunny slopes of yesterday slumlord.

All the best.

Dwayne

Now that’s music.

BC30cal; thank's... havn't heard "Slow Ride" in a coon's age (or two)... best friend had a 340 duster back in HS, glass packs, air shocks and cragers... must'a been in 77/78 i think... ust'a cruise the street by the HS where all the "cool kids" gathered on lunch break to smoke cigarettes... Of course we had Slow Ride on cassette blasti'n outt'a the stereo... Those day's were just like the movie "Dazed and Confused".. It's a miracle we didn't wind up dead or in jail... lol

I don't know the other vocalist but I like him!

That's Jon Harvey of Monster Truck, an incredibly underrated Canadian rock band. Kid Rock just helped put them on the map.

Uh, it's called a brand...

We'll see in time I suppose. It's a quantum leap from having kids with black crack whores to being the darling of conservative honkys. I like some of his music, but it needs to be left at that.

If this is what you really think about The Kid you really don't know that much about the boy from Romeo.

Yes
I listened to Foghat when I was 5,6,7 and up

Had a radio taped to my bike handlebars and my mom was cool.

Mother listened to all the good stuff. I didnt grow in a home with Lawrence Welk and Liberace and the Tonight Show band. 😃
Going to visit grandparents and great aunts and uncles REALLY SUCKED though. 😩🥴

Pretty sure I knew all of song on Lynryd Skynyrd’s first two albums by the time I was 6.

That’s why it floors me WHEN dudes that were of that vintage say stuff like:

“Never of em”
“Just a bunch of long haired hippies, jumping around on a stage, screamin, making fools of themselves”

I give you Mannlicker as an example

What in the hell was he listening too when he was 25ish years old during that period of music?

slumlord;
Thanks for the reply sir, I hope the day's looking to be a good one out in Tennessee.

That makes sense about the tunes now sir. cool cool cool

Like it was yesterday, I can still recall the first time I felt really, really old...

One of the owner's daughters was working in the cabinet shop one summer and this song came on. She said she loved it and asked me if I knew it?

I replied, "Yah, first heard it on the radio coming out of Manitoba in the summer of '73. Loved it the first time I heard it, why?"

She looked at me like I was absolutely a living fossil!!! laugh laugh laugh

As with 7 mm Loco, I listened to Foghat in a jacked up '71 T37 with dual turbo mufflers on it, the sound coming from a Craig cassette deck, through a 7 band Sears booster/equalizer and some big speakers which I can't recall the brand name now. That would've been '78 or '79 I guess.

It's been a faster ride than I'd anticipated slumlord, that much I can say for certain - but it wasn't without some very grand times indeed.

All the best to you.

Dwayne

Jack drinking with Kid Rock, Bret Baer, some pros, founders, and distinguished vets. Kid left pretty geezed at 3am. Grand opening tee times were at 9am. It was a Big deal. VIPS, Limos, speeches, the works.

Jack hit the very first drive, big military fly over, flag raising, Star Spangled Banner, lotsa hype. Rock shows up pretty hung and pretty much on time thanks to his asst. He was dressed, well, like Kid Rock - not a golfer. Fedora on backwards, shorts, white knee high athletic socks, you get the picture. Proceeds to shank his drive of the first. Instructs beverage cart girl to come visit every other hole or so. She made A LOT of money that day. Seems he was punishing the 16oz Buds better than he was golfing.

After the 18th green a crowd gathered around his cart along with the press. My boy is cleaning his clubs and says, Mr. Rock, you left a few unopen beers in the cart, would you like them? Rock says hey, you can have them. My boy says I'm not old enough to drink (with a wink), but I can give them to the guys in the cart barn. Rocks says, Right on dude! Fist bumps my boy, pulls out his wallet, and slips him a hundy.

He didn't get paid a dime to do that for the veterans. He's pretty cool in my book.

Pretty cool

Your cart barn story made me laugh. My best bud in highschool worked a cart barn after school, washing them, plugging them up, getting them ready for next day. He'd save all the unopen beers left by golfers in a big orange gatorade cooler, They'd keep them iced down of course and Friday afternoons we'd drink what the golfers left us.
