What velocities are you guys seeing with 139s and the various powders? 22-23" bbl... I am getting 2750 with 42.5gr varget and great consistency. I plan to work with H/IMR 4350s and big game next just for the sake of playing with it. Maybe even 4451
My accuracy load in my Browning Abolt with a 22" barrel (47 grains of H4350 and a 140 grain Nosler BT) is averaging 2725 fps.

Same here. I get 2700 with a 140 in an 18.5” barrel. Would probably be 2800 in a 22”.
Now with even more aplomb

So far, IMR 4895 was the most accurate. Going to try Big Game with the new Tikka. Magnum primer. 2.805” COAL was the magic spot for 4 Tikkas. BTO differed, of course. P

Try PP2000mr, RL17, Big Game, Hunter, W760. All will do 2900 With 140gr Accubonds in my Tikka. Superformance is a little faster. PP4000mr is fast but no accuracy yet. RL16 will do 2850FPS with 140gr Accubonds.

Big Game if you can find any.

Well, I tried 6.5 StaBALL and Varget in my new Tikka T3X this weekend. Both shot under 1” groups, so I’m not changing anything. I’m going out Friday to chronograph both loads, and to try another load with 120 Gr Barnes TTSX and Varget.

Around here, that’s a very big IF. I’ve been looking since summer 2020 for it. I finally found a pound of Hunter, but no Big Game as of yet.

I started using 139 gr Hornady SST's in my 7-08 about half way through this past season. Didn't have time a lot of time to work up a load. My intent was just to find something that shot around an inch. I had several powders on hand so I put together a few loads with H414, Varget, Big Game, IMR 4064. In the past all of the powder charges I used had been tried with 140 gr NBT's.
The Varget load was the most accurate, followed by Big Game, H414 and IMR4064. In all fairness all loads shot really well except the 4064 loads. Now that season is over Im going to work a little bit on a couple of the loads and see what I can get.

10 years ago I would use either H4350 or W760 with 140gn pills. Now I use RL17.
