I’m looking to buy a Marlin 336D. This is basically a straight stock guide gun in 35 Remington. They came with a shorter mag tube and 18.5” barrel. If someone has one or know where one be had, shoot me a message.

Below is a pic of one.

Thanks, Mike

** Would also consider an 1895G or GS, guide gun. **

That's a sweet looking configuration. I'd love one if those.

Doesn't the "D" stand for Davidson's, the firearms distributor? IIRC, this was a special run by Marlin for them...highly sought after. Good luck!

Yes it does. There's been a couple on GB for prices that will knock your socks off. The 1895 G or GS maybe a better way to go

You’re right. Seemed to see a couple come up every year. I’m wanting one to use, because I like the configuration and caliber, not to collect. I wished now I would have bought a truck full a few years back.

I’ve always liked the straight grip stock, but a pistol is ok too. I just don’t like the big loops out there. May just take what is there and make it what I want, if something doesn’t come along. Luckily, I’m patient. Lol

You might try a WTB ad on the Marlin Owners forum, I'm pretty active on that forum & it's probably your best bet on finding one at a more reasonable price.

Thanks Jerry. I was going to post there also, but noticed a fella has a want ad there for one already. I didn’t want to cut in on him on the same rifle. I’ll give him a little time before I post in there also.

Bought mine for $375 from Davidson's. Has roughly 20 rounds through it. Wild West Guns peep and a safety delete. I can't see a mark on it. Looks as close to 100% as you can get. What kind of crazy prices are they getting on GB?

Excellenty. That is the kind of deal I look for and find. The rest of the guys settle on $1200 guns.. Funny, but the way it goes.. Good snag by the way.

Not a D, but Zmgsvt had a 336RC waffle top on here early January. I don’t think it sold.

That was the new (wholesale) price. Must have been over 20 years ago.

You'd be surprised what a good stock maker can do in converting one or have a matching stock and fore arm made. Probably wouldn't be much difference in price and you'd have what you want and probably better (figure) wood. Just a thought.
