There are 2 No.1's in 30/30. The first was a blue 1A, which are scarce now. The later one was a K1A(stainless/walnut), which I guess are also pretty scarce right now.

I had both. Collecter friend wanted the blue/walnut and I kept the stainless/walnut. I have not shot it yet but to me it’s a classic cartridge, although many folks don’t share my desire. I have a Browning 1885 in 30/30, also a Winchester 1894 made in 1952. I’ve had Contender pistols and carbines, Handi rifles in 30/30. A cartridge doesn’t have to be a magnum to be worthy.

I just traded into the stainless version. It's in "like new" condition with the original box, carboard sleeve, paperwork, Jard trigger, low offset rings, Leupold VX2 2-7 and NECG peep sight. I am a huge fan or the #1 and 30-30 - to my mind they're a perfect match. I'd like to see one in 35 Rem and 32 WS.

I was told by a longtime collector of #1's that Hank JR had three number 1's in 30-30 that were serial numbered HW1,HW2 and HW3. He supposedly had #2 with a letter from Hank. I never saw the gun and he has since died. Anyone heard of this?
Nice trade Lou.

Certainly one of the few on my short list of the rifles I'd love to have...
I certainly like the 30/30 cartridge.... one in a Model 54 Winchester, and one in a Remington Model 30S in 30 Remington...are also on my Unicorn list.

I keep wishing Browning/Miroku would make the modern Low Wall in .30-30, but I guess I will have to settle for my 6.5x55....

The High Wall 30/30 version w/28” octagon barrel is quite heavy. Great idea to do it in a Low Wall.
