I remember when cars came without radio and heater, even back seats, as standard equipment. Ads would list the price “ Radio & Heater included!” 3-speed manual transmissions, shifter usually on the column, were standard even into the 70s.
Don’t recall exactly when, but sometime in the 60s, seatbelts and side mirrors became required equipment

They don't have those anymore? Remember the cups that were paper cones held in metal bases with a handle? Didn’t hold much soda and ice. Now you get Big Gulps that many can’t hold with one hand. No wonder we’re so fat.
