Tikka t3 Bergara b14 Sauer 100
I'm looking for a new rifle and have narrowed it down to these three. The calibre I'm looking at is either 270 or 6.5x55 Any thoughts/opinions are appreciated.

Chances are that you'd end up with a very good rifle with any of the three. Bergara will be the heaviest. The Sauer has a longer length of pull than some people like. Tikka will be the lightest and likely the most accurate by a little bit.

I’m a Mauser fan, although I don’t own one. My question is, doesn’t the M18 have the removable butt pad? I’m not sure if I like that feature or even think it’s necessary. Does that butt pad have any effect on felt recoil?

I would get the Tikka in 6.5X55 if it were me.

I have a Tikka T3 Lite SS in .270 and love it. No experience with the other two, but that Tikka has ended up being an excellent all-around rifle.

I like my Tikka, but I'd really like to try a Sauer rifle, even the base models seem to have more character to me. And I like s longer LOP

Does that butt pad have any effect on felt recoil? Not that I can tell. I have each of the rifles mentioned except the begara...... All will hunt and shoot just fine.

Sauer barrels aren't threaded into the receiver, deal breaker for me. Bergara is too heavy. Tikka all the way!

This is not true for the Sauer 100 rifles. The 101 was press fit but the 100's are threaded. As for the OP, I would look at the Sauer (or a less expensive Mauser) first then the Tikka. I have a Sauer and the trigger is the best I've felt on a rifle in this price range. They are great! The bolt is very smooth, also, and the stocks are pretty stiff. Just a well made rifle. You would also be good with a Tikka but I am not a fan of the Begara. They are the heaviest of the bunch, the stock flexes more than the others (at least the one's I've handled have) and the bolt is not as smooth as the Sauer. Take your pick on the cartridge but personally, I would lean towards the .270.

I really want a Bergara in 22-250 with the 1-9 twist. They look like a lot for your money.

Hard to beat the tikka. My lefthanded t3 in 270 is a killer. Would love to have a 6.5x55 tikka but lefties are hard to come by in ss/syn
