I recently stumbled across 6.5 Staball powder and bought a few pounds. I have not played with this powder and have never seen it for sale in any of the shops I frequent . Do any of you use this and like it? I have a couple 6.5 creeds and was going to play with this powder and 120 gr bullets. Any load if formation would be greatly appreciated . Thanks

As soon as the chrono arrives I'm gonna load up rounds using the Hodgdon load data for the 143 gr. ELD-X and compare them against my existing H4350 load.

60g gets me 0.75" groups at 2924fps avg out of my A7 Big Game .30-06. No group during development was over 1.25" So yeah, I like it. lol

If you would have asked me this 2 months ago, I’d tell you I could take it or leave it. I did not have good luck with it in my .260 Rem, but I have since found out that gun is not a huge fan of 140 gr. bullets. I did find a load with it in my .300 WSM with 165 gr TTSX. While not the best it was a hunt able load. My best load with it shot .95” 3 shot group. I could get the first two in .25” and the third would open it up. On average, it was just over an inch.

Now since Christmas, I’ve gotten a 7mm-08 and StaBALL is performing awesome in it. Between Varget and StaBALL, I may not try other powders in it. I’m going to give it a try in my 6.5 CM on some loads I could t get to perform well with other powders. Hopefully it can get the speed up higher than what H4350 with 127 gr Barnes LRX does. Of course it is a little more dirty than extruded powders, but that doesn’t bother me.

I use it in a 22/250 with 52/53 gr bullets. It restored my faith in the cartridge and bullet combo after I ran out of IMR 4320. I haven't tried it in anything else as I used the two pounds I had for the 22/250.

It isn't that dirty but then I run it at the max. Where I started might have been a little dirty but the max loads have been pretty decent.

I'm using it in the 6.5 CM. My experience is that it seems to work better in my 2 rifles with the lighter bullets as opposed to the heavier ones. But, other guys have said it works just fine with the 140's.

Following. I picked up a pound at a local gun show this past weekend. I plan on trying to work up a load with Nosler 120 BTs for my Creedmoor. Let us know what you think about after trying it out.

Have a 6.5 cm that loves it with 123 Amax, and a 270 that loves it with 140 Bergers. But, haven't had any luck getting it to work in a 6mm creed with 110s.

Midway has Staball in stock at the moment. I picked up two this morning. They also have a few other powders, like H380 and others. Varget was available but was literally pulled out of my cart when checking out.😡 it went fast.
